Game development by freelance reporters
I'm an indie game developer and a freelance reporter on game media. The knowledge I gained in my main business is the motive for game development and the game concept itself. However, the main business is also a cause of delaying the progress of game development.
If I were devoted to game development, then Retro Game Aliens would have already been completed (this is a very pointless assumption!). The reason I didn't do that is because I find it worthwhile to continue my job as a freelance reporter.
I have a keen interest in how the indie games I love came about, or the kind of people who developed those indie games. I'm shy by nature, but if it's a work-based communication, I can ask the person involved openly about it!
That “skill” is effectively utilized when I develop “Retro Game Aliens”.
When I decided to develop a game featuring a 1980s video game, I felt it needed to be a respectful activity in the history of video games. I went directly to meet the game creators of the time (the main developers of the games we respect). The purpose is to ask those who made great achievements the episodes at the time of production.
Many of the stories I heard during the interview were compiled as a fanzine. Editing the obtained information as a highly entertaining reading material is my specialty (* These were produced with the consent of the parties concerned).
As important as completing the "Retro Game Aliens" is to keep a valuable record of video game history. Please keep an eye on our activities!
Published zine *Currently, because of Corona, I have refrained from interviewing that I had planned.
